I had the opportunity to see the ballot papers today and I must admit that is looking a little confusing, on the COUNCIL ballot paper which will be WHITE you vote using numbers, number 1 for your first preference, number 2 for your second preference and so on till you run out of preferences, you don't have to use them all but you can if you like.
On the second ballot paper which is brown and violet you use a X, for both sides but only put one X on each side.
Keep in mind that if you make a mistake on your ballot paper you can get another set, if you are voting by post call the help line number, if you are in the polling station ask the presiding officer.
